PixelChimes
A downloadable Clock for Windows, macOS, and Linux
I couldn't find a grandfather clock app that I could run on my desktop that chimed every quarter and looked like a grandfather clock. In my free time, I made my own using HaxeFlixel so that I could also learn Haxe and the Flixel API. I commissioned my friend to do the pixel art. The chimes were made in Bosca Ceoil.
For now, the clock pulls the current time from your device. Aside from determining initial hand positions upon initialization, timekeeping/chiming and hand movement are independent of each other. Some ideas for the future are implementing an internal clock that must be set upon start for additional applications such as a mantle or desk clock that wouldn't be using network time synchronization, and/or working with the chime manager to utilize hand positions for chiming in the event that things go wonky.
It took roughly three years to finish this as it was just something I did in my free time and was refactored in multiple programming languages before I settled on Haxe. It is obviously not perfect, so let me know of any bugs you find.
